Local Ionosphere Model Estimation From Dual-Frequency GNSS Observables

چکیده
A method for the removal of ionospheric effects from single-frequency non-GPS radio navigation data through the use of data collected from a single collocated dualfrequency GPS receiver is presented. The method uses a local ionosphere model to estimate the total electron content (TEC) along any line of sight that differs from the GPS satellite lines of sight. Two novel models are investigated, a thick-shell model and a thin-shell model. It is shown that the thin-shell model is more observable than the thick-shell model, and different variations of the thin-shell model are analyzed for utility in this application. A novel method for determining the Gauss-Markov dynamics model tuning parameters using the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) model is also presented. The algorithm is tested using real GPS observables, and modest improvement is shown over an existing method.

The ionosphere is still considered one of the most significant error sources in precise Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) positioning. On the other hand, new satellite signals and data processing methods allow for a continuous increase in the accuracy of the available ionosphere models derived from GNSS observables. Therefore, many research groups around the world are conducting resear...

Triple-frequency GNSS has been intensively studying in the past decades, especially with the open service of China’s BeiDou system. In this review, we will address the ambiguity resolution, benefits gained from additional frequency signals compared to the dual-frequency GNSS signals, as well as analyse the challenges of triple-frequency GNSS for future development. We first review and compare t...

In this paper, we test the performance of single and dual frequency GPS and Galileo GNSS receivers in terms of satellite-receiver range estimation. In particular, we focus on the e ects caused by ionosphere and multipath propagation. Therefore, the available pseudoranges are assumed to be contaminated with first-order ionospheric delay and measurement errors produced in the code tracking stage....
متن کاملIonosphere Monitoring Methodology for Hybrid Dual-Frequency LAAS
Strong ionosphere storms are a potential threat for the Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS). During these storms, very large spatial gradients of ionosphere delays might cause significant errors in user position estimation. Therefore, LAAS needs to continuously monitor ionosphere behavior in order to ensure integrity against the ionosphere anomalies. This paper introduces a new ionosphere mon...
